It offers its products to the m obile phone, consumer electronics, and computing end markets through original equipment manufacturers, distributors, and retail sales channels in the Americas, the Asia Pacific, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Japan. The company was formerly known as SunDisk Corporation and changed its name to SanDisk Corporation in August 1995. SanDisk Corporation was founded in 1988 and is headquartered in Milpitas, California.

Advisors' Opinion:
  • [By Dan Caplinger]

The problem, though, is that Micron needs to boost its prospects if it wants to stand up to its competition. Use of flash memory and solid-state memory drives has greatly increased demand for memory generally, and rivals are working hard to make their own inroads into trying to maximize that demand as long as it lasts. SanDisk (NASDAQ: SNDK  ) has not only come out with its own solid-state drives but has also teamed up with hard-disk drive giant Western Digital to produce hybrid solid-state hard-disk drives that combine the benefits of solid-state memory with the cost-effectiveness of traditional hard drives. Even Rambus (NASDAQ: RMBS  ) has soared to almost two-year highs thanks to a recent victory in getting SK Hynix to settle a patent dispute with the company, helping Rambus to ease the sting of having lost its major suit against Micron last year.

  • [By rsconsultant]

Sandisk (SNDK) has been disrupting the advanced storage industry for long. The flash memory maker, recently, stood out as truly newsworthy when it uncovered its Ulltradimm solid-state drives, or SSDs. Also this new item dispatch, similar to its previous successful ones, appears generally positioned to fast track the chipmaker's development going ahead.

  • [By WALLSTCHEATSHEET]

SanDisk provides data storage products and solutions to consumers and companies at an increasing rate. The stock has been on an impressive run over the last few years and looks to be ready to test previous all-time high prices. Earnings and revenue figures have decreased over most of the last four quarters, which has not really disappointed investors. Relative to its peers and sector, SanDisk has been a year-to-date performance leader. Look for SanDisk to OUTPERFORM.

  • [By John Divine]

Flash memory producer SanDisk (NASDAQ: SNDK  ) committed a cardinal sin yesterday, announcing that it probably wouldn't be able to fill all its orders this year --voluntarily. This blase philosophy -- in which SanDisk won't pay for more facilities to meet rising demand for its own product -- put an effective cap on its sales growth going forward, and the stock took a 6.6% shellacking because of it.

In December 2013, MFC announced its subsidiary, Manulife (International) Limited, had completed the transaction to sell its life insurance business in Taiwan to CTBC Life Insurance Co., Ltd. Advisors' Opinion:
  • [By Jonas Elmerraji]

Manulife Financial (MFC) is another stock that's forming an ascending triangle pattern right now. In the case of this $33 billion Canadian financial services firm, resistance comes into play at $18, a price level that's acted as a ceiling for shares since all the way back in July. The buy signal comes on a move through that $18 barrier.

Whenever you're looking at any technical price pattern, it's critical to think in terms of those buyers and sellers. Triangles, and other pattern names are a good quick way to explain what's going on in a stock, but they're not the reason it's tradable. Instead, it all comes down to supply and demand for shares.

That $18 resistance level is a price where there has been an excess of supply of shares; in other words, it's a place where sellers have been more eager to step in and take gains than buyers have been to buy. That's what makes a breakout above it so significant -- the move means that buyers are finally strong enough to absorb all of the excess supply above that price level.

After it happens, I'd recommend keeping a protective stop at $16.50.

    The real test for Obamacare
In any event, the biggest challenge that Obamacare faces is getting its Health Insurance Marketplace up and running by Oct. 1. Although private exchanges from Marsh & McLennan (NYSE: MMC  ) subsidiary Mercer as well as Towers Watson (NYSE: TW  ) have done a good job of getting Aetna, UnitedHealth, and other popular insurers to participate in their programs, the reception that public exchanges have gotten has been far less favorable. Without a smooth launch in less than three months, Obamacare could find itself facing much greater criticism than it is today.

  • [By Keith Speights]

    Flourishing
While the federal Obamacare exchanges flail, private health insurance exchanges are flourishing. For example,Mercer, a subsidiary of Marsh & McLennan Companies (NYSE: MMC  ) ,announced in April that several large insurers -- including Aetna, Cigna, Humana, and UnitedHealthcare -- would be part of its Mercer Marketplace private exchange. Mercer Marketplace allows employers to contribute a defined amount for its employees to use on health coverage. Employees use the system to shop around for the insurance plans that best meet their needs.

Top 5 Oil Stocks To Buy For 2014

I don't think it'd be a stretch to say that the oil and gas industry had big hopes for the Utica, a vast shale rock formation in the Appalachian Basin that stretches as far eastward as New York, though most drilling activity to date has been concentrated in Ohio. Chesapeake Energy's (NYSE: CHK  ) former CEO Aubrey McClendon even called the Utica "the biggest thing to hit Ohio since the plow."

The play even drew initial comparisons to the Eagle Ford of Texas, one of the hottest and most prolific shale plays in the country. Like the Eagle Ford, the Utica was thought to have vast hydrocarbon potential, a massive prospective area, and three zones containing oil, dry gas, and gas liquids.

With the benefit of hindsight, however, that initial comparison appears shortsighted, as expectations about the Utica's oil potential have been revised downwards. Judging by recently drilled test wells, zones of the Utica though to be rich in oil aren't very porous compared to other shale plays. They're also shallower than the gassier areas of the play, making it more difficult to get oil flowing through the rock.
